Week 72- Sorrow but also joy because of the Plan of Salvation

Januray 25, 2021 This week has been very busy, powerful, full of sadness, but also full of joy. Tuesdsy morning we recieved news that Jared Riddoch (a missionary from my mission that had just returned home a month ago) and his fiancé passed away in a tragic car accident. It really hit me. Such a horrible thing to happen. I loved elder Riddoch. I had the privelage of serving with him for 5 months. He made us laugh so much and was a piano genius. We also was so humble and loving and genuine. He also made great sourdough bread haha. It made me wonder if the plan of salvation was really true. (The plan that god has for us that answers the questions of where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going) I was able to teach the plan of salvation several times since, and I am here to say that I know that it's true. God really is there and I know Elder Riddoch has returned home. We had some of the most powerful lessons this week. As my companion and I taught people what we believe it was so much more powerful and personal. I am so grateful to know of this plan for us. To be able to have hope that we will see our loved ones again. As I was driving around on Tuesday at night I was looking at all the cars and people and wondering how many of them are experiencing a tragedy? Or have hearts weighed down with burdens and sorrow? Probably more than we'd like to think. And these people are going through it alone. They aren't aware that God is there to help, and to lift, and to give hope and peace in our most challenging times. That's why I'm here... To help show people that they are never alone. To give them the opportunity to turn to the one that loves them most. While it was a hard week. I still felt joy. A simpler joy. The joy of feeling full. The joy of feeling peace. The joy in knowing that God loves me and everyone else. Joy felt alongside sadness and pain. We were able to serve so many homeless people this week and I feel as though I have been able to be filled with more love than I ever have at this challenging time.
I know this email has been a bit different this week but I want you all to know, whether you believe in God or not that you are loved. His love has no boundaries. It has no end. No matter who you are, what you have done, it doesn't matter to him. He cares about the here and now. He knows who you can become. I love you all and I hope you have a really good week :) Love, Sister Clement

Week 71- Nanaimo!

January 18, 2021 It's been a long time since I've written one of these!! But I am here on the island in a place called Nanaimo!!
We have seen so many miracles since I've been here as well it has been incredible! We posted a service add to do free meal prep for people and it has gone crazyyyyy I think we will be swamped with cooking!! We also did some outdoor service for these two guys who were hilarious and started a massive bonfire for us.
The apartment I'm in right now is way nicer than I have ever had!! It's definitely not Thailand aha.
Also I am officially in a congregation in my church that has families and is not just young people because we have been getting so much food!! My first three days here we got meals LOL. What a changé from the two meals I got in 6 months. Poor college students, what can ya do. But yeah it's been so fun and we have found some amazing people to teach who have such a string desire to follow Jesus Christ!
Keep going in whatever you're doing that's good. The blessings of your work almost never come right away but I beliebe in an eternal never changing, perfect God and he always upholds his promises. He promises us that we will recieve blessings for every good thing we do to follow him. So they will come, I'm certain of it. I hope you all have a good week! Love, Sister Clement 1. Dropping off pie and ice-cream for our friends!! 2. We are going to Victoria for a few days every week and this is our new place down there!! It's so fun and it's a beautiful drive too :) 3. Week 69- Transfer Week!! - Nanaimo!

Hello everyone!! Sorry I have been terrible about writing emails! Christmas was amazing here! Definitely a different experience than being back in Thailand! Sister Montague loved Christmas so Christmas eve we slept in the living room under our lights, we had a dance party, and barely slept because of excitement and sister montague sleep walking. It was a good Christmas eve!!
Christmas morning I woke up super early to call Sara and Warren and watch the kids have their Christmas morning. It was so great and such a tender mercy to see them there. Sister Montague and I then proceeded to have our Christmas morning. We got so spoiled this year!!!
We ended up going on a 5 day exchange with another set of sisters was very interesting and a cool experience! Good transfer news!! I'm going to Vancouver island to be with Sister beck! It's going to be so fun and this is her last transfer.
I read a scripture this past week that really touched me. It was about the saviors Atonement and his suffering. It said "the spirit knoweth all things, nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh". the Spirit KNOWS everything BUT Jesus didn't want to just be able to say, "I know how you feel" he wanted to be able to say, "I have felt what you have felt". And so He suffered and felt every pain or sickness we will ever feel. So that He could run to us, save us, and lift us up when we call on his name and let him. I love you all and I hope you have a good week!! Happy new year!! Love, Sister Clement 1. First polaroid ever in front of our paper tree!! 2. Me and sister Taylor on an exchange doing facemasks!! 3. Our lame new years ever party haha!! 4. We finallt got Thai food! Sister Montague tried it for the first time and I finally found my favourite food! Again matching pj's in front of our tree! 7. My ms. Claus outfit for Christmas eve (S. Montague made me dress Christmasy) 8. Dropping off cookies to Hanna!! 9. A classic zoom Call selfie
