August 3, 2020
First of all I can't believe it's already August!! That is so crazy!! Time really does fly by!!
So crazy story. We were helping a member out with her garage sale (she's downsizing so it was a pretty dope garage sale) and this lady came and wanted this table! But it turns it didn't fit in her car, so naturally sister Higham and I offer to carry it to her house for her in 40° weather!! It was fun, we got a good workout out of it. So turns out this hour we went to was first completely off the grid. The couple were cirque de soleil performers for 15 years in vegas, they built the house themselves, complete with trapeze bars and all (she showed us a bit too!), they had a pack of wolf dogs, and she's also like this insanely good artist, also she had a near death experience in Costa Rica and got healed by a some dude there too. Sister Higham and I were shook. Also they fed us popsicles! So we ate popsicles with cirque de soleil performers, it was nuts. They invited us to come back to learn some trapeze stuff so who knows I might come back and join the circus!!

Helping out at the garage sale!! |
We got all of that chocolate and candy for free!! |
We were able to do a lot of service again this week which was super nice!! Also a member gave us a shout out in testimony meeting and told everyone they should invite us over because we have a super awesome message that we can share we celebrated after that.
We celebrated sister murphy's 9 months by getting ice cream and then sister Meekers 1 year by getting Wendy's and ice-cream!! It was pretty sweet, lots of celebrations up in here.
Ice cream from the cutest little place |
We also did beach day missionary style for pday today!! We played a bunch of beach volleyball(other people joined which made it more fun), got ice cream, ate watermelon, pb&j sandwiches, threw a football around while wading in the water, and soaked up those rays ️ it was a good time.
Beach day! |
Parasailer that was super close to us lol |
Also funny culture thing in the okanagan. When people ask what you do here, they are NEVER TALKING ABOUT WORK lol. They are talking about extracurriculars, hobbies etc. Everyone and their dog at least does mountain biking and hiking around here. Also a lot of water sports and stuff. Everyone is so active I love it
The work has also been going super well!! We are teaching some amazing people and we really have been able to get the ward involved and its been great.
I love being a missionary. I really do. Some days are rough and I wonder what I'm doing out here or what even is my purpose at this time when we can't really talk to people. But there is so much I can still do!! The lord blesses any bit of effort. He will take what you do and magnify it... Always. Even if it doesn't feel like we are doing much we can still see miracles!! And we have!! We found someone this week through Facebook who loved the idea of a loving Heavenly Father and wants to know more about everything. We will be meeting with her on Tuesday! God will always prepare a way.
I love you all, have a great week!!
Sister Clement
